Everything that takes a school from good to truly great
comes from the additional investment achieved through

Inspiring a Culture of Philanthropy at Hillfield Strathallan College

Philanthropy is defined as voluntary action for the common good.  For some, the concept of philanthropic support of an independent school is foreign.

Like most great academic institutions, Hillfield Strathallan College (HSC) is a not-for-profit organization that relies on philanthropic support for those needs that cannot be funded through the operations budget. Generations of donors helped to ensure that HSC is what it is today.  We must continue this tradition of philanthropy.

Philanthropic support is our way of ensuring the value system we cherish is fortified and carried forward. It provides meaning to our lives by allowing us to do something selfless with our time, our talents and our financial resources.

Hillfield Strathallan College is preparing students to lead in their local, national and international communities.  We must ensure that students experience state-of-the-art facilities, consistently inspired and developed faculty, and programs that meet the changing needs of the 21st century student.  One student, educated at Hillfield Strathallan College, can positively affect the lives of thousands. While tuition covers a significant portion of the investment in an HSC education, students also benefit from the gifts and endowments provided through philanthropic support. Your gift is essential to ensuring that current and future students have the opportunity to receive the educational experience that Hillfield Strathallan College delivers.

Funds raised are used to support teaching excellence, financial assistance, capital improvements and major capital projects.  There are many ways to support the school including volunteer opportunities, donations to the Excellence Fund, joining the Excelsior Planned Giving Society, events like the gala auction or alumni golf tournament as well as through donations to build the new Community Centre and Athletic Complex.

We welcome an opportunity to meet with you to facilitate the fulfillment of your personal philanthropic mission at HSC and beyond.
